Come and try our Hand Building Clay Workshops!

Sep 9, 2021

Halloween Critter Class (9th October, 10am to 1pm)

In this workshop, Jill will take you through the stages required to use hand building clay techniques to make your very own pumpkin family! Mega cute!

The Pumpkin Family Halloween Critter set

The first visit – which takes place on October 9th (a Saturday if you were wondering) – will see you build these wonderful items under Jill’s expert direction. You’ll then leave your critters with us to allow the clay to thoroughly dry. Once dried they’ll then be fired to bisque ready for you to complete the masterpiece. Be patient though, this process can take a few weeks.

Once they have been fired, we’ll let you know and give you a special link to book your second visit. This visit, which you can do at a time which suits (when we’re open of course!), allows you to antique paint the pumpkins and getting them to look all cute. We’ll then put them back through the kiln to finish them. Once that’s done, it should be about two weeks, we’ll let you know and you can be reunited! We can post them as well (for an additional cost understandably) which typically adds an extra week just so you know .

Best of all, you get the two visits for £50, leaving you to ponder which drinks you would like to purchase when you’re with us!

Christmas Angel (27th November, 10am to 1pm)

You can probably guess what you’ll be making in this workshop! That’s right, a lovely Christmas angel!

The Beautiful (and Large!) Christmas Angel

Like the Halloween Critters, the wonderful Jill will be back to give you that expert guidance. Taking place on the 27th November (another Saturday), she’ll take you through the steps required to use hand building clay to achieve a result similar to the above, but you can decorate it differently if you wish. Don’t worry though, you can choose on the day and Jill will be on hand to help!

Again, once you’ve finished the first workshop you’ll leave your Angel with us to allow the clay to thoroughly dry. Once dried they’ll then be fired to bisque ready for you to complete the masterpiece. Be patient though, this process can take a few weeks.

Once they have been fired, we’ll let you know and give you a special link to book your second visit. This visit, which you can do at a time which suits (again when we’re open!), allows you to paint the angel following your own personal taste. We’ll then put it back through the kiln to finish the process. Once that’s done, which should be about two weeks, we’ll let you know and you can be reunited with it! We can post them as well (for an additional cost of course) which typically adds an extra week just so you know.

As with the other workshop, you get the two visits for £50, leaving you to ponder which drinks you would like to purchase when you’re with us!
