Pudsey Bear Paintathon: 13th – 16th November 2020

Pudsey Bear Paintathon 2020

Oct 12, 2020

These strange times we currently live in are having a huge impact across all aspects of society.

No part of life has seemingly gone untouched.

Most critically though, it is having a significant negative impact on the health and wellbeing of UK children. Children in Need’s recent research shows that life for those who were already facing disadvantages has become incredibly difficult. This will only get worse as the effects of the pandemic continue.

Really wanting to play our part in supporting the work of the BBC Children in Need appeal, Whitby Kiln is proud to be able to run a Pudsey Bear Paintathon. This now annual event, helped by our friends at Big Bisque, allows you to paint your very own bisque version of Pudsey!

Most important of all though is 50% of our profit generated from selling these Pudsey’s will be donated to Children In Need.

This year is also especially special. It’s Pudsey’s 40th anniversary! To celebrate, this year’s bears have been specially designed with a “40” birthday badge! It’s a special one off bear and won’t be produced again. We also have limited numbers so if you want one then you need to act quick.

How to get Involved

Current guidelines permitting of course, we have adapted this year’s event from a single 12 hour paintathon to span four days (Friday 13th to Monday 16th November). This will ensure we can keep operating as a COVID-19 Safe studio.

Don’t worry if you can’t come during these days though, we are also offering Pudsey’s now as a take out kit! You can also choose from either the underglaze or acrylic option. Get in touch to find out more!

Additionally, and to allow us to generate as much as we can for Children in Need, we’re also offering a postal service for the acrylic take-out option. So if you can’t get to the studio let us know and we’ll work out the best option to get you your very own Pudsey!

When you’ve painted your Pudsey make sure you post it on social media tagging in Whitby Kiln!
