After a stuttering start last year because of the lockdowns, we’re running out Pudsey Bear Paintathon again!
Very much like last year, these strange times we currently live in are having a huge impact across all aspects of society.
No part of life has seemingly gone untouched.
Most critically though, it is having a significant negative impact on the health and wellbeing of UK children. Children in Need’s recent research shows that life for those who were already facing disadvantages has become incredibly difficult. This will only get worse as the effects of the pandemic continue.
Really wanting to play our part in supporting the work of the BBC Children in Need appeal, Whitby Kiln is proud to be able to run a Pudsey Bear Paintathon. This now annual event, helped by our friends in ceramic studios across the UK, allows you to paint your very own pottery version of Pudsey!
However, last year’s special birthday for Pudsey was a bit of a let down. So it’s only right that we celebrate Pudsey’s 40th anniversary again, but in style this year! We’ve a limited quantity of Pudseys’ with a specially designed “40” birthday badge! These are one off bear’s and won’t be produced again so act quick!
Most important of all though, and unlike last year’s event, all of the profit generated from selling these Pudsey’s will be donated to Children In Need. It really is critical that everybody can support these good causes and the staff at Whitby Kiln really feel passionately about this.
How to get Involved
Current guidance permitting of course, we are running this event from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 20th November! We’ll even have some Pudsey themed treats throughout the day! Just drop in throughout the day to participate. Pudsey’s are £15 each and you’ll get to keep them for a lifetime!
Don’t worry if you can’t come on the actual day though. We have the Pudsey’s ready to go to paint in the studio or as a take out kit! You can also choose from either the underglaze or acrylic option. Head over to our online store for more information!
Additionally, and to allow us to generate as much as we can for Children in Need, we’re also offering a postal service for the acrylic take-out option. So if you can’t get to the studio let us know and we’ll work out the best option to get you your very own Pudsey!
When you’ve painted your Pudsey make sure you post it on social media tagging in Whitby Kiln!
