Tube Lining/Slip Trailing Workshop

Sep 10, 2021

Working with the very experienced Sylvia (over 30 years experience in the industry) we’re pleased to bring you a workshop based on her interpretation of Moorcroft style painting!

If you’ve been in the shop recently you’ll have got a glimpse of the final outcome from this wonderfully elegant technique. We may have even got it down for you to show you! The texture is something else.

Under the expert guidance of Sylvia you will be taught the tube lining technique to achieve a Moorcroft look onto a beautiful platter plate. This platter is exactly like the one in the picture!

When finished, you’ll leave the platter with us. We’ll then make sure it’s dry, glaze it and pop it into the kiln. As soon as it’s been through and passed it’s quality checks, which should be in around two weeks, we’ll let you know and you can be reunited! We can post the finished article as well (for an additional cost understandably) which typically adds an extra week.

Best of all, we’ll be providing a complementary drink along with a slice of Sylvia’s homemade cakes (she’s a woman of many talents!)

As the workshop will be around 4 hours long, we’d recommend that this is suitable for people aged 16+. All you’ll need is a bit of patience and a willingness to learn:
